Scarce hardcover issue of this monograph. Considered one of the outstanding Cuban artists of his generation, Agustin Fernandez was born in Cuba, emigrated to France in 1959, moved to Puerto Rico in 1968, and to New York in 1972, where he died in 2006. Of the 200 hardcover copies of the book, 150 were accompanied by an original collage on serigraphy signed by the artist; this copy is special, in that the serigraph is number 6 of 8 artist's proofs ("epreuve d'artiste"), signed and numbered in pencil by Fernandez. As a side note, there were also 2000 wrapper-bound copies.
