2-207 pp (including front and rear pastedowns). Engraved portraits and advertisements; inserted chromolithograph plate; inserted folding advertisement for the Hotel Del Monte on pink stock. 22.5x14.5 cm. (9x5¾"), original leather backed printed boards.

A scarce California directory, illustrating the extent to which fraternal organizations permeated the social fabric of early California. Scores of advertisements for San Francisco businesses.

Condition:

Spine rubbed and worn, ends chipped; hinges cracked at endpapers, ink notations to front pastedown; about very good.
