A nice and very rare brochure on Fairbanks, produced when E.B. Collins was Mayor (served as Mayor of Fairbanks from 1934-1939). The brochure starts, "In the course of your wanderings in the Far North, you have now reached Fairbanks, the Golden Heart of Alaska, so called because of our having contributed nearly one hundred millions of the yellow metal, during the past thirty years to the American people." It goes on to describe mining, the University of Alaska, the highways, airplane trips, places of interest, lodges and churches, and sports activities, plus the names of various hotels, restaurants, taxis and airplane companies and some sightseeing prices.
