Scarce early edition of the longest running annual in the library of golf. This fourth edition is the earliest to ever be offered at auction. 1924 is the earliest edition to be offered at auction. The early editions are so scarce that the first (1899), third (1901), and fifth editions (1903) were never located by Donovan & Jerris. "...publication of the 'Golfer's Handbook' commenced in 1899, and continues to the present day (noting that publication was suspended during World War II). These weighty volumes (many exceed 800 pages in length) included championship records, listings of clubs around the world, famous players past and present, and a noteworthy collection of golf trivia, oddities, and accomplishments." -D&J G24775.
