Scarce guide to the oilfields of central and southern California, still producing over a century later. The folding maps indicate the ownership of rights to the various plots of land, the location of wells, and of transportation facilities. The ever-changing nature of the business is reflected in a printed note by each map that the full-size versions were updated daily, and that blueprint copies were available each day. There are also a number of advertisements. OCLC/WorldCat lists only two copies of this 1904 issued, at the University of California, Berkeley and at Southern Methodist University, and just a handful of the 1908 and 1910 printings.
