Description:

[6], vi, 128 pp. Text and title in Russian; front wrapper in German, apparently used for the German issue of the work. With 6 hand-colored steel-engraved plates containing some 120 images. 12¼x9¼, original front wrapper, bound in modern cloth.

Portion of the report on Fedtshenko's scientific expedition to Turkestan, this covering the lepidoptera, by N. Erschoff. The hand-colored plates contain multiple depictions of butterflies, caterpillars, etc.

Condition:

Old rubberstamps to the title-page and front wrapper, ink notations to the wrapper, soiling to wrapper, some foxing within, else very good, undoubtedly scarce.
