218 pages of which most all are filled out with handwritten poems, in either French or what appears to be a form of Schweiz/Deutsch, salutations or tributes to friends and dated with place of inscription in France or Switzerland and approximately 20 finely executed water color painted pages, 3 pages of schnerenschnitte (scissors cut) silhouette pages, one page of a cobweb floral illustration (not unlike cobweb valentines) and a 12 page handwritten index in the rear identifying  the participants in the album. 12½x19cm. (7x4¾"), b ound in original full calf with one gilt rule surrounding the front and rear covers, all edges gilt, the gilt decorated spine with 5 raised bands,  and stamped on red label, STAMM BUCH. Housed in a slipcase fashioned with old decorated paper over boards.

The water colors are beautifully executed and in fine bright condition. One is in the trompe l’oeil fashion and shows a pile of written papers and a playing card. Most are scenic works and a few are black & white watercolors.
