Illustrated from photographs, drawings, wood engravings, ads, etc.; many of the original covers with some coloring. 10½x8¼, original periodicals bound in ¼ maroon calf and black cloth boards, spines lettered in gilt. First printings.

The seldom seen beginning volumes of "The Magician" magazine, which includes many interesting articles and illustrations of famous magicians, magic tricks and the history of magic. Contains many articles, editorials and other appearance of and about Harry Houdini, and also includes an original two-page memoir and a letter to the editor by Houdini himself.
