Samonte's works are surreal abstractions of nature and memory. As in the works of the abstract expressionists, his work is about color, form and shape, except that there is none of the brushwork, paint flow or other gestures that characterized that school. Instead the computer is his canvas on which he develops the colors, textures, shapes and forms of his digital paintings.
