A unique and interesting collection of Civil War era "Cartes de Visite" portrait cards of various people, including a tintype of a Civil War soldier in its original golden cartouche sleeve, an albumen print of Abraham Lincoln, and an albumen print from a painting of Lincoln and George Washington together apparently in heaven with Washington putting a wreath on Lincoln's head; plus many wood engravings of important U.S. military figures. Many still contain the original revenue stamp on the verso, which was heavily used by the U.S. government to generate finances during the War. Some of the albumen prints and all of the tintypes have some color highlights, including pink and gold colors, one with a blue coloring. Most of the wood-engraved portraits have their names printed, and only some of the other photographic prints have names titled in pencil, many of which come from the Huntingdon family of Harrisburg, PA.
