Description:

Illustrated with 10 chromolithograph plates from original water-color drawings after nature by Isaac Sprague, with tissue-guards. 12½x9¾, decorative blue-gray stamped in gilt, black and pink, lettered in black and gilt, all edges gilt.

Originally published in 1882. Includes poetic extracts from Longfellow, Whittier, Bryant, Holmes, and others.

Condition:

Joints and extremities a bit rubbed, light soiling; binding shaken with middle hinges cracking, a few of the plates with minor edge wear, otherwise images fine and bright; very good or better overall.
