Signed by Fairfield on the half-title, with a manuscript note in his hand as to the binder on title. This copy with a manuscript pencil map of the area around Honey Lake and Bald Mountain (NW Sierra Nevada) laid in and with scholarly marginalia, apparently by a close colleague of the author's. The map is 17¾x13". The pencil marginalia varies from corrections of spellings of some names to a 2-pg closely written addenda on the Citizen's Committee. Adams Six-guns 691; Cowan p.201; Graff 1281; Howes F11.
