Together, two volumes. Both are carbon copy typescripts with prefaces addressed to the Commerce Bureau Chief signed by the author. Illustrated with dozens of original photographs and several large folding blueprint maps. 10½x7½, black cloth gilt-lettered.

Confidential, preliminary reports prepared by the consulting engineer and trade commissioner in China. A fascinating peek into Sino-American relations after WWI..."Asia is in line with the original American impetus - Westward" (introduction). Scarce; doubtless only a handful of copies were ever assembled. Ownership signatures of Leslie B. Newman.
