Gabbiani (1652-1726) was one of the most accomplished painters of the 17th century Florentine Academy, and a favorite of the Medicis. The lovely engravings reproduce Gabbiani's drawings, many are sepia-toned, in red or brown inks, one on blue ground; lovely compositions. Some of the plates numbered in manuscript in image. A rare series of fine impressions after an important Baroque painter.
