Fascinating early astrological work. In the preface, Gadbury defends his study against the objections of "the Seeming Religious, the Politique, and the Ignorant" some of whom "conclude [astrology] an Imposture, or else an absolute piece of Witchcraft". Contains astrological analysis of historical and contemporary figures, including Nero, Queen Mary, Maria de Medici, Erasmus, Oliver Cromwell, Nicholas Culpeper, and the author. This copy with 18th century ownership signature to title. Wing G80.
