Watercolor on paper, 13½x19. Signed, dated and titled by the artist.

Jamichael Henterly was born in Northeast Ohio and though his earliest memories include drawing, he doesn't recall imagining himself to be an "artist". He did want to be a scientist, however, and would try to capture with pencil on paper the tiny wonders he found in his microscope or the nearby woods and ponds. He tells his art students now: "See like a scientist to draw like an artist; draw like an artist to see like a scientist." He lives in Northwest Washington on the Nooksack River. This drawing is an original illustration for "Young Lancelot", with a few printer's markings in margins.
