The rare original typescript for this classic murder mystery featuring Christie's most famous detective, Hercule Poirot. Contains ink marks from the printer, chiefly giving information for typesizes and interlinear spacing, etc. Provenance: From the library of Mick Belson, whose grandfather, Harry Belson and his second wife, Lillian Belson, worked as handyman and housekeeper/cook (respectively) for Agatha Christie and her husband, the archaeologist Professor Mallowan. Mick Belson was a regular visitor at Winterbrook House in Wallingford and Agatha gave this typescript to him in 1959 or 1960 as she was nearly about to throw it away in the trash can! She apparently always trashed the printers' copies after publication.
