Warm and interesting inscription, signed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Carl Blunt(?): Fate plays strange tricks and I know nothing more fortunately strange than the chance meeting of you and the Evans Scholars Foundation and its momentous consequences. I hate to think what would have happened if your strong hands were not there for the Caddie Scholars. I wish I could find newer and stronger words to express my meaning. Love and best wishes from yours devotedly, 'Chick' Charles Evans Jr., Chicago Golf, July 7, 1954." Also, signed below the inscription "Witness, Robert McDougall, John M. Dorsey."
