With 261 original black and white photographs, plus a few periodical clippings with photographic images, with affixed typed captions throughout. Photos measure from 2½x2" to 4x2¼" (one measures 8x10" and is laid in and another is a cut-out of a golfer. Most are placed inside paper corner mounts (some are glued, a few laid in), on black thick-stock paper. 9¾x12½, 1920's or 1930's green calf, lettered in gilt "Bell Golf Club, San Francisco," bound together with black shoe-lace ties.

A rare and historical archive of original photographs of California golfing history. Contains the San Francisco branch of the Bell Golf Club and it’s presidents, members, tournament winners and runner-ups, etc. Presidents includes: R.K. Maynard, Jr. (1927-28), A.L. Mewhirter (1928-29), L.N. Roberts (1929-30), K.B. Hoppe (1930-31), T.R. Hobbins (1931-32), A.W. Fonseca (1933), E.H. Wagener (1934), and H.A. McDougal (1935). Other names include: J.C. Major (Winner Second Flight), W.G. Mason, J.H. Eckhardt, E.N. Hicks, F.O. Hallingstad (winner – 19th Green), W.H. Topham, W.W. Stahl, C.F Cole, E.B. Pinkley, C.J. Carlson, R.L. Vohs (winner – 18th Cup), E.T. Kriedel, G.A. Archibald, W.L. Carter, Ben Brown, Joe Thomas, P.G. Prescott, Palmer Foster, W.F. Carr, E.L. McCubbin, F.W. Fairey, M.G. Kincaid, H.A. McColl, and several others. Many group photos, one is captioned: "One of the foursome in Qualifying Round at La Rinconada, Left to Right: T.J. Donnelly, C.L. Hunt, E.C. Kloppen and L.W. Hollingsworth." Hollingsworth was a club champion. Another photo captioned: "Bell Golf Club of San Francisco Vs. Bell Golf Club of Sacramento for Central Area Trophy, Sonoma Mission Inn, April 24th." Also, shows images from around the course and club, various trophies, etc. A few of the photos missing with the captions for them still present. Laid-in are three leaves from The Pacific Telephone Magazine discussing the results and on-goings at the Bell Golf Club of San Francisco (also called the Marin Golf and Country Club), showing photographic images and results with several of the same names that are captioned in this album (circa late 1920's or early 1930's).
