The rear cover has silhouette portraits of Dorothy and Ozma, and the spine imprint is printed in upper and lower case letters. This is one of the "earliest copies," without damaged type on p.34, line 4 ("Toto on"); the page number 121 present and unbroken; and with the numeral and caption present beneath the illustration on p.129.
