This photograph was taken during the famed Lindbergh kidnapping case, when Charles and Ann’s son, Charles Augustus III, “was abducted on March 1, 1932 from their home. The boy was found dead on May 12 in Hopewell, New Jersey just a few miles from the Lindbergh's home, after a nation-wide ten week search and ransom negotiations with the kidnappers. More than three years later, a media circus ensued when the man accused of the murder, Bruno Hauptmann, went on trial.” Also, “during the 1930's, Dewey (1902-1971) was a New York City prosecutor, and in 1936, he helped in the conviction of Lucky Luciano.” Photographer's name and location in embossed lettering found on the bottom left corner.
