From an old catalogue entry: "This is the second appearance of these illustrations and the fourth of the text...In regards to the superb etchings by Thelot see Ferdinand Nagler, Allgemeines Künstler-Lexicon, 18, 203; although Nagler thought that this was the first appearance of the plates (1st:1717). 'Thelot's forty vignettes, half-page size, are uncommonly fine. The figure of the servant Scaramuza is modeled after the corresponding figure in Kaspar Stieler's Rudolstadt festival plays' (Faber du Faur)." Faber du Faur 652.
