Early and quite rare pirated edition of The Count of Monte Cristo, which first appeared in installments in Le Journal des débats from 28th August 1844 to 15 January 1846. The RLG Union Catalogue locates only one copy of this title published by Muquardt, and that was dated 1847. It is quite possible that, like Les Trois Mousquetaires, the present edition was set from the periodical appearances, and may even have pre-dated the regularly published edition.
