Manuscript gift book made by Anna Mary Richards [Brewster] for Eleanore R. Price. 7 leaves. With six original watercolor illustrations (about 2½x3½"). 7x4½, original wrappers hand-lettered and with an additional watercolor illustration.

The six illustrations on the inside are all signed "Anna M. Richards" and dated 1885, when the artist was about 15 years old. Anna Richards was the daughter of the noted painter, William Trost Richards, and when she had made this book she had already exhibited at the National Academy in New York at the tender age of 14. She went on to study at the Cowles Art School in Boston and then with William Merritt Chase and John LaFarge in New York. She is a very highly respected female artist from this period; and this a rare item of her juvenalia.
