Rare wrapper-bound issue, possible pre-publication, with ownership signature on the half-title dated Octbr. 1883; also the issue points of "Egad" on p.27, and the reference to p.39 on the frontispiece. In custom-made folding cloth case with morocco spine.

Condition:

Light soiling to the wrappers, spine foot with small chip; early blindstamp of bookseller J. Pulsford to the half-title, else fine or nearly so.
