Beautiful hand-colored plates, lithographed by Day & Hague. The Annuals was the first of Mrs. Loudon's works on ornamental flowers in British gardens. She writes, "Of all kinds of flowers, the ornamental garden annuals are perhaps the most generally interesting; and the easiness of their culture renders it particularly suitable for a feminine pursuit" (introduction). This copy with neat period gift inscription on title-page.
