Uncommon map of North and South America, with a bit of Europe and Africa, and the northeast tip of Asia. C. Blanc and C. Mendocin are named in California, along with a few of the channel islands; in the western half of the continent of North America is engraved "Ici doivent être les Pays de Quivira et de Teguio dont on n'a aucune connnoisance certaine"; and to the north "Nouvelle France ou Canada" indicates word of the French defeat at Montreal had been ignored. The coloring is likely later, but attractive. From the Atlas Universel of De Pretot.
