x, [2], 328 pp. Illustrated from drawings and paintings (mostly full-page including frontispiece) by Will James. 8x5¾, decorative green cloth, stamped and lettered in black, pictorial jacket. First Edition.

True first edition with dates on title page and copyright page correspond and only three lines of print on the copyright page. Scribner's introduced their "A" code for first editions in 1929, but not all titles of that year follow that rule. "Will James had very high hopes for this book and worked mighty hard on it for most of two years. The drawings rank up with his best and none is a repeat from his first four books" - Frazier p. 31.
