Rare early photo study by Ansel Adams of the newly completed Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, on the San Francisco Penninsula. The Spanish Colonial compound was designed by Gardner Dailey and Pedro Lemos for Delight and Garfield Merner as a workplace for artists and craftspeople and as a design consulting firm. Adams' photos (screened halftones) show the buildings, grounds, and finished interiors. Last leaf is a description of the Guild and its aims. Laid in is an enclosure folded to 12x9 with a "133 Screen Copper Halftone Reproduction" captioned Hands of the Potter on facing descriptive text.
