Autograph of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546-1601) on 3¼x5¾ slip of laid paper mounted to 7x8¾ sheet of laid paper with later handwritten caption in German.

Autograph was likely obtained at Brahe's Uraniburg observatory as noted in the handwritten German caption. Letters "dd" (Latin abbreviation for "gave as a gift" or "herewith given" in Brahe's hand above his autograph. The "Album Amicorum" (book of friends, essentially an autograph album) originated among German students in the mid-sixteenth century. Brahe's autograph is quite rare.
