Scarce Bukowski title, inscribed and signed "For William Targ - Charles Bukowski, 6-23-72" in black ink with an original drawing of what appears to be a man chasing a woman under the sun with a bird flying overhead, all on the half-title after dedication page. Targ (1907-1999), of course, is the mainstream book editor best known for publishing Puzo's The Godfather as editor-in-chief of G.P. Putnam's Sons. He also founded Targ Editions, a one-man publishing operation out of his home in Greenwich Village.
