Nice example of Colton's Guide, similar, though in greater scope, to those by John Calvin Smith that Colton published. As Howes notes, it contains information on California, Oregon and Texas, with overland routes, etc. The large, brightly colored map shows the eastern U.S. and parts of Canada, with insets of New England, the entire U.S., and the Isthmus of Panama. Howes C623.
