First separately printed map of Wales, by Humphrey Lhuyd. This is the second variant of the Orteius publication of the map, with added stippling in the Irish Sea. The map was later issued by Mercator and others. There is a ship with three masts in Cardigan Bay, and a marine creature off Fishguard; a table or regional place names in Latin, Welsh and English in the right-hand top corner. Latin text on verso. Evans, Maps of Wales (MCC 13), p.5.
