Adam Islip's important edition of Chaucer's works, the foundation of English literature. Lacking frontispiece portrait (A1?); preliminary leaf [5] (a6) misbound after E6 (it has the lower fifth, which was blank, replaced); lacking two leaves at rear - Uuu3 was in the "hard words of Chaucer, explained" section, and the other may have been as well. Folio numbers 178 & 179 repeated, but 351 and 352 are skipped to rectify the discrepancy. With ownership signature of R.T.W. Duke to the title-page and later flyleaf, with inscription to his son on the flyleaf.
