21 leaves of card stock, including wrappers. With 60 mounted halftone plates from photographs by the Czarini Alexandra Fyodorovna. 9½x7¾, decorative paper over the wrappers, sewn.

Very scarce photographic work comprised of photographs taken by the Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, wife of Czar Nicholas II, the last imperial ruler of Russia. Though Nicholas was well known to be an accomplished amateur photographer, his wife's enthusiasm has been less recognized. The present book was published to raise money for wounded soldiers. The pictures include many candid scenes of the royal family, on picnics, bicycle riding, reading, entertaining, etc. These idyllic days were to end all too soon with the Bolshevik Revolution, and the royal family executed in March of 1918.
