First printing with publisher's seal and "A" on the copyright-page. Front jacket flap in the first issue state with the three quoted blurbs by T.S. Eliot, H.L. Mencken and Paul Rosenfeld on the front flap. Due to the restorations it is not inconceivable that the flaps were supplied from another copy (both flaps with less darkening than rest of the jacket). Fitzgerald's last completed novel published during his lifetime. First printing copies in the original jacket are rare, in any condition. Only 7600 copies of the first printing were originally produced. Bruccoli A15.I.a.
