A scarce edition of Nizolius' renaissance lexicon to the writings of Cicero, after the 1570 Aldine edition. Brunet IV, 84. Provenance: From the The Syston Park library of Sir John Thorold and his son, with bookplates. The Syston Park library had been started about 1785 by Sir John Thorold (1734-1815), his son, Sir John Hayford Thorold (1773-1831), was truly a great collector. From 1824 until his death he built up, in an incredibly short time, a beautiful collection of incunabula and Aldines.
