[6], 184, [2] + [6] ad pp. Frontispiece portrait photo of Jack London with his facsimile autograph. Original reddish-orange cloth, lettered in gilt. Jacket. First Edition.

Advance review copy with publisher's perforated stamp thus to title page. Rare in jacket, which reproduces on the front panel the frontispiece photo. Non-fiction pieces, including "Four Horses and a Sailor," Jack's account of a trip in company with Charmian in a horse-drawn carriage from Sonoma County to Oregon. Only 3,056 copies printed. BAL 11972; Sisson & Martens, 91-92.

Condition:

Bottom corner of front free endpaper browned, else fine in original unrestored jacket with 1" chip to bottom of rear panel, shallow chips to edges and top of spine, light overall soiling.
