Cossery was an Egyptian novelist whose first book, Les Hommes oubliés de Dieu (Men God Forgot), was quite successful. Of the two City Lights reprints in wrappers we offer here, one is a first copy with a rejected cover; most notably, the title is lettered in white against a photographic background, while the later cover is lettered in black on a white panel.
