Signed by each of the four great Notre Dame football players next to their portrait on the illustrated title-page. Elmer Layden, James Crowley, Don Miller and Harry Struhldreher formed one of the most famous, if not the most famous, backfields in the history of college football, earning the monicker "The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame." Also signed by the author on the page preceding the title.
