"Hope was able to synthesize the work of his predecessors with his own observations, and his writings reflect a wealth of bedside experience, His Treatise on the diseases of the heart and great vessels was first published in 1831, but it was extensively revised before this first American edition appeared. Included in the work are some of the finest clinical descriptions of valvular defects ever written." - Heirs of Hippocrates, 1628.
