81 pp. 32 copper-engraved plates including portrait frontispiece; double-page plate at rear; engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar. (8vo) 6¾x4¼, period full mottled calf with morocco spine label.

Scarce edition of Holbein's 16th century images of the many aspects of death. According to ESTC, some copies contain a separately paginated section at the end, not present in this copy.

Condition:

Spine stained and detaching at heel, moderate edge and cover wear, corners bumped; hinges cracked; foxing; else very good.
