Inscribed, in the year of publication, on the ownership page: "To my very dear sister Harriet A.B. Neal, L. Frank Baum. Ozcot at Hollywood in California, Sept. 25, 1913". Inscribed copies of Baum's Oz books are exceedingly rare and seldom appear on the auction block. Binding 'A' in light green (rather than tan) cloth. The 'C' in "Chapter" on p.35 does not overlap the text indicating this is the Second State of the first printing. Bienvenue & Schmidt p.52.
